X-reset
By Xavier Duport Naem
“This technique isn’t just physical — it’s energetic. When you stretch into this X shape and
create tension, you’re turning on your body’s internal power grid. You’re drawing energy into
areas that may have gone numb or heavy. Holding the tension helps wake things up — your
muscles, your breath, your focus. And when you release it, you’re clearing that energy.
You’re not just stretching — you’re moving emotion, stress, even stuck thought patterns out of your
system. It’s like hitting a reset button for your nervous system and your energy field.”
Step 1: Put focus on physical sensation to keep the survival brain busy
Step 2: Shift your focus away from physical sensation
Step 3: Be very present & curious with incoming thoughts

When Rucha approached me and told me about her art exposition and how she wants to support people learning science through art, I thought right away that showing the X Reset exercise would be a great idea.
We started brainstorming about different ways to build it, and after chatting with some of my roommates, I found out that someone here at Edge had a 3D printer. So I modelled to show the move, and we printed it.
I modelled to show the move, and we printed it. I added wires around the arms to express the tension created while executing the exercise. That tension is the key element to the success of this move. It’s generating a sympathetic nervous system response voluntarily,in order to hijack the survival thoughts that block us and keep us from taking action or resting. When we finish, we experience what is called a parasympathetic rebound, a nervous system response to the effort produced while in sympathetic, to accelerate our rest and repair mode. What we feel enables us to have mental clarity and a high capacity to focus, or relax and rest, which is why it is beneficial, no matter what you want to do afterwards.
